The 2014 “Dallaglio Cycle Slam” will commence in Treviso in Italy on 2nd June 2014 and end at Twickenham Stadium in London on 24th June 2014.

Funds raised from the Dallaglio Cycle Slam 2014 will go directly to the Dallaglio Foundation. They will be used to fund a various programmes which include their flagship social inclusion project.
This project is a youth engagement and social inclusion programme, which has a profound impact on the lives of marginalised young people, helping them make better life choices, increasing their sense of worth and employability.

Delivered primarily in Pupil Referral Units, the aim of the programme is to engage young people, using rugby as the vehicle to develop social skills, self-esteem, discipline, team spirit and positive pathways into employment.

Ferno (UK) Ltd. are delighted to support this event by supplying the “Cycle Slam” Support Ambulance with essential equipment including the “Compact 2” carrying chair, a spinal board (with head blocks and straps) and a “Scoop” stretcher.

Reward for Jon’s stolen bike

Our Managing Director Jon Ellis who has raised more than £15,000 for charity by cycling across the UK has had his bike stolen.

Jon has raised thousands of pounds for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance and several other charities by taking part in Huddersfield Town’s Pedal for Pounds charity bike rides over the past five years.

Jon says: “The 36-gear Trek Pilot 2.1 road bike has carried me over hundreds of miles over the past few years as I have cycled with other fundraisers to raise funds for charities like Yorkshire Air Ambulance which does such good and important work in our region.

“The bicycle was taken from my garage over the weekend and I would like to appeal to anyone who knows of its whereabouts to get in touch. It is black with silver writing and has dual pedals with cleat clips on the underside. It also had a white light on the handlebars, a tall drinking cup on a holder and a small bag under the seat.”

Last month Jon took part in the Pedal For Pound’s fifth event covering more than 300 kilometres from the Emirates Stadium in London to Huddersfield, via Cambridge and Leicester.  Jon was in the Pink Team and Ferno also supplied a support vehicle for the bike ride.

In spite of an injury to his knee Jon successfully completed the ride to do a lap of honour with other riders at the Huddersfield Town’s John Smith’s stadium.

Jon said he was willing to offer a reward to whoever returns the bicycle.

A warm welcome from the Ferno team at RETTmobil in Fulda, Germany

If you are attending this year’s RETTmobil 2014 exhibition be sure to come and say hello to us at booth 405 where we will be showing off a wide range of products – including a special unveiling of our new iN/X integrated patient transport and loading system.

RETTmobil has become a great event for the emergency services. The event attracts thousands of  decision makers and managers from the emergency services sector, with more than 330 exhibitors and 20,000 visitors from all over Europe participating in last year’s event.

The iN/X will revolutionise the way emergency service crews secure, transfer and load patients, and will be initially previewed in Europe at RETTmobil by special invitation to a VIP viewing area.
The Ferno iN/X  is a major innovation for ambulance trolleys. It is a highly functional, state-of-the-art, patient transport system that provides critical functions and benefits for the patient and ensures the safety of the crews using it.

Developed by Ferno with significant input from emergency medical service (EMS) professionals and industry leaders, the iN/X resembles a sleek, robust, high-performance trolley that adjusts to the users’ many needs. It can lift patients to the level of any ambulance patient compartment with minimal effort on the part of the EMS crew.

One key design element of the iN/X is its complete transfer of weight to and from the trolley’s unique frame to the ground or ambulance compartment floor, without placing stress or strain on the crew.

Our Commercial Director Luigi Vernazza says: “The iN/X represents Ferno’s commitment to the development of a ‘no-lift’ solution for the EMS community and significantly reduces or eliminates injuries caused by lifting, lowering, loading and unloading patients”.

Other Ferno products showcased over the next couple of days at RETTmobil include our Harrier ambulance trolley, the ever-popular Compact 2 Track Chair; Scoop stretcher; Powertraxx and many other products.

So come along and say hello to the Ferno team at stand 405. We will be tweeting over the next couple of days with the hashtag #RETTmobil.
